Doppa (Uyghur: دوپپا, Chinese: 花帽) are knitted hats that are decorated with either detailed knit patterns or feathers, sequin, and other decorative objects. Doppa are traditionally worn by Uyghur, Uzbek, Kazan Tatars, Tajiks, and other ethnic groups. Uzbek doppa are relatively soft and round in shape, while Uyghur doppa are a stiff and square shape. Doppa have been a part of traditional Uyghur dress for centuries. The first records of doppa date back to the Tang Dynasty (618A.D. to 907A.D.).
